He took a step forward towards the mighty waves
Hoping to go far away from the shore
For he thought people were just slaves
Of their own minds always wanting more
Fishes swimming happily in the open gave him hope
Perchance he might find a better life out there
Taking another step forward in the downwards slope
As the scars he left behind were beyond repair
But the voices behind him were holding him back
However terrifying, those were the voices that stayed
It wouldn’t be fair to go without any track
“Should I go back or should I wade?”
His muddy feet were cleaned by the ocean
While the strong winds pushed him away from it
Liberation was his only notion
As he has held long trying not to quit
The waves came close and the voices became stronger
He walked towards the sound that he thought might last longer
